On Saturday, March 8, the capstone films On The Rocks and On A High Arid Plain
held a fundraising concert at the Provo Bicycle Collective Warehouse.
Each Fall and Winter semester, up to two Media Arts projects are selected
for capstone development. Both are required to raise up to $3500 toward
their project budgets, and this concert was one of the methods they chose. There were about 60 people in attendance, and the projects raised $575. Performing were Twin (Spencer and Lianna Russell, a husband and wife duo, and son and daughter in law of Tom and Courtney Russell) and Isaac Russell (another son of Tom and Courtney and formerly a Columbia Records artist). Spencer has scored many past capstone projects. He loves film scoring and is always looking for new projects. Both acts donated their time to the cause. The two projects this term are On The Rocks: written by Sam Featherstone and Martha Rallison, directed by Sam Featherstone and produced by Cassie Hiatt; and On A High Arid Plain: written and directed by Colten Ashley, and produced by April Groth.
