Idyllwild Arts Summer Program: The Idyllwild Arts Summer Program has openings in 2013 for many summer positions. Salaries range from $250 to $500 per week, with meals and housing provided. Most positions are available from June to August, with a few only through July. Located in the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains in Southern California, the Summer Program offers courses in dance, music, theater, visual arts, creative writing, and Native American arts to students of all ages since 1950. Hollins University MFA in Playwriting: The Hollins University MFA in Playwriting is a summer intensive low-residency program that attracts some of the most influential names in new play development. Call for Creative Writing Submissions: Literary Laundry is excited to announce its sixth call for submissions. As always, all work submitted to the journal will be considered for our writing competitions. We are offering the following cash awards: $500 for the best poem and $500 for the best short story. This writing competition is open to writers of all ages. Our most recent issue featured work from professors and graduate students as well as from undergraduates. In addition to our general competition, we are also sponsoring an undergraduate-only competition, offering $250 for the best undergraduate poem and $250 for the best undergraduate short story. Lastly, we are offering a $100 award to the visual artist that we select as our “featured artist.” Submissions are due December 15. The Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts: PCPA offers the serious student comprehensive actor training in its certificate program in Professional Acting. The class schedule is rigorous; blending studio classes, lectures, labs, rehearsals and performance experiences. In order to audition for the conservatory, please prepare two contrasting monologues, 60-90 seconds each (one should be classical, preferably Shakespeare), and prepare one song of approximately 16-32 bars only. International Physical Theatre Lab Scholarship: The scholarship amount is 300 EUR and it partially covers the participation fee (850 EUR) for the IUGTE Theatre Lab taking place in Leitring bei Leibnitz, Austria, December 14-21, 2012. The program includes intensive practical training with the Russian theatre director and teacher Sergei Ostrenko, and workshops, presentations, lectures, performances, works-in-progress and discussions with performing arts experts and teachers from different countries. Zion Summer Theatre Series Request for Proposals: Zion Summer Theatre Series brings five shows for three nights each to 2,000 guests in an idyllic setting at the O.C. Tanner Amphitheater by Zion National Park. The series is soliciting proposals for musical productions for the 2013 season. Case Western Reserve University Acting Program: Case Western Reserve University MFA Acting Program has worked with Cleveland Play House for 16 years to help graduates succeed.
